September 11th

Black Ribbon

My how time flies. Today makes 12 years since the tradegy that hit the US on September 11, 2001. A lot has changerd since then and a lot will continue to change in the upcoming years. I’ve seen a lot of posts throughout the years where people talk about where they were on this fateful day and I’ve come to realize that I don’t think I have ever talked about it. I remember where I was. Almost everyone, in the wake of any sort of tradegy, remembers.

I was in my first semester of 9th grade. Sitting in my public speaking class, surrounded by all upperclassmen, we all watched in horror as the events unfolded. Even though I lived in many, many states away, I could hear the concerned murmurs from my fellow classmen as they realized that they knew people in one of the affected areas.

September 11, 2001 is a date that will live in infamy. But we should not let the evils of the world scare us into remaining stuck in our safe little bubblea. Our time on this planet is short – if you want to travel, travel. Just be cautious.

That’s all I have on the matter.
